Tips For How to Look Pretty
Learning how to look pretty isn’t about adopting a particular societal ideal of beauty (or coveting things that you don’t have), it’s about embracing your own personal style, interests, and personal beauty. It’s all about knowing how to accessorize your look so that you can highlight your best assets. And while makeup is a big part of your overall beauty, there are some areas of your look that makeup simply won’t touch. Here are five of the most stubborn beauty issues that makeup simply cannot touch:
Skin tone: Skin tone is extremely important
when it comes to boosting your confidence and creating an overall more positive, healthy, and even “hands-off” appearance. Darker skin tones tend to be less confident and much darker skin tones are more self-conscious about their appearance. When learning how to apply makeup, start with a base coat of foundation that is slightly darker than your skin tone. This will give a bit of color to your skin, as well as help it to look a little bit warmer and brighter throughout the day.
Eyes: If you’re having a hard time making yourself look pretty
check out the eyes. Do they look puffy? Are they lazy? Are they dark or pale? Makeup just can’t instantly fix these problems, but it has the ability to temporarily conceal some of them.
Wrinkles: One thing that I have learned over the years
is that nothing is worse for my ego than wrinkles that just won’t go away. The key is to always work on keeping your wrinkles at bay, whether that means regular facials or a daily moisturizer that takes care of the inside. Stay healthy by eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of sleep, and exercising regularly. You’ll feel good about yourself and your appearance, and you’ll be better able to take care of yourself at the same time.
Lipstick: It may sound strange to you
but there are a lot of products out there that claim to whiten or brighten your lips. While some products can temporarily whiten your lips, most of them don’t do a very good job of it. Instead of trying something outrageous like applying fake whitening lip gloss that costs upwards of $100 at a makeup store, go for something a little more natural. Go with a lip balm that has a high level of moisturizer, like Nature’s Miracle, that will keep your lips feeling smooth and nourished all day long.
Healthy Eating: One big component of looking and feeling attractive
is good health. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman, you need to eat right if you want to maintain your looks. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, keep your fat intake low, drink plenty of water, and get some exercise. You’ll feel and look healthier and be better able to take care of yourself. If you smoke, quit; it will make a huge difference in how attractive you appear to others.
